Why's everyone so down on death? I mean, sure, it's sad... but think of the upside. A great big funeral all about you. Flowers, singing, food, drink, a rowdy wake. Next to a wedding it's probably the best party of your life. Except you're not alive. But some people know how to go out on a good joke. Like Jim Fixx, the guy who was
responsible for the jogging craze of the 1970s. Died from a heart attack while jogging. True story. Or street beggar and yoga performer, Adi Pandit, who died while performing his daily death-defying act of burying his head in a sand hole on a busy Bombay road for an hour at a time. He got run over by a truck.
Then there was Debby Mills-Newbroughton, 99, who was killed while crossing the road to celebrate her 100th birthday - hit by the truck delivering her birthday cake. (I swear this is true!)
And my personal favourite... jockey Frank Hayes, who had a heart attack during a race. His horse won, making Frank the only deceased jockey ever to win a horse race. Go Frank.
